Tim joined the Adjusting profession in 1963 with Richard Arnold & Son and is now a partner of Mediterranean Average Adjusting Company, the companies having merged in 1995.
He is a Fellow of the Association of Average Adjusters, having qualified in 1979. He was their Chairman from May 2001 to May 2003, during which time he arranged seminars on marine insurance terms and conditions and also helped to steer the consultation process between the Association and the Joint Hull Committee in respect of the International Hull Clauses introduced by the IUA on 01/11/02 and updated in 2003 after further consultation. More recently, he steered the Association's consultation process with BIMCO on the wording of their Average Bond Clause, leading to its amendment in 2006.
Tim is a member of the Association's Committee of Management, Examination Committee and Panel of Experts, also a member of the AMD, the International Association of Average Adjusters.
Tim handles General and Particular Average, Salvage, Sue & Labour claims and specializes in Collision claims and related recoveries.
He also co-authored with N. Geoffrey Hudson the 2006 Fourth Edition of "Marine Insurance Clauses", the popular reference book for insurance practitioners. In addition, he has given presentations on General Average, The York-Antwerp Rules, Collision Recoveries and Policy Deductibles etc., at seminars in London, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
