Tim joined the Adjusting profession in 1963 with Richard Arnold & Son and is now a consultant to The Mediterranean Average Adjusting Company.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Average Adjusters, having qualified in 1979. He was their Chairman from May 2001 to May 2003, and a member of the Association's Committee of Management, Examination Committee and Panel of Experts, also a member of the AMD, the International Association of Average Adjusters.

Tim handles General and Particular Average, Salvage, Sue & Labour claims and specializes in Collision claims and related recoveries.

He also co-authored with N. Geoffrey Hudson and Keith Sturgess the 2012 fifth edition "Marine Insurance Clauses", the popular reference book for insurance practitioners. In addition, he has given presentations on General Average, The York-Antwerp Rules, Collision Recoveries and Policy Deductibles etc., at seminars in London, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
